Mike Harris
Mike offers 32 years of experience in health and human services in Nebraska health and human service agencies. As policy administrator of many major Nebraska programs including Food Stamp, TANF, Medicaid, Child Support Enforcement, Low Income Energy and Child Care, Mike was responsible for developing, implementing and communicating policies to over 850 local office staff to serve the citizens of Nebraska.
During program development and delivery, Mike focused on team building, consensus and accountability to achieve results. Mike coordinated state-wide planning and implementation teams that focused on program accuracy and meeting federal performance standards. This approach helped Nebraska to achieve multiple high performance bonus awards in the Food Stamp and TANF Programs and brought national recognition to Nebraska's program staff. This approach also helped Nebraska to sustain a level of excellence as high performance bonuses for Food Stamp Program accuracy were received in five consecutive years from 2003-2007.
Mike also brings experience working with federal state, and local officials. His approach to problem solving is positive. He has experience, knowledge and leadership abilities to achieve program improvement and desirable results.
